Blossom Cottage

The quaint English thatched roof cottage is depicted in this charming piece of needlework which delights the eye and the stitcher’s fingers besides. The house is made of stucco plastered over half-timbers. The roof is worked in rows and rows of stem stitch to achieve that thatched effect.

The piece de resistance is the bounty of flowers which surround any self-respecting English country home. A wild profusion of brilliant flowers tumble from the yard, down the walkway; they beguile the eye. Morning Glories climb the wall. Roses proliferate along the fence. Daisies dot the walkway. A flowering hedge embraces the cottage and the blue sky completes the springtime effect.
