Gabrielle at the Gate

Gabrielle at the Gate is inspired by a painting of the same name by noted French Impressionist, Henri Martin. My interpretation, rendered in the finest of needlework techniques and stitches expresses the lovely flowers and trees that embrace our main subject.

Gabrielle herself is a lovely young woman returning from gathering flowers and about to leave her secret garden. The students will learn to express the folds and drapery in Gabrielle’s gown, as well as playing with numerous stitches appropriate for depicting flowers, trees, and garden decoration.
